Heidi Klum is spilling all the details on the viral naked dress she wore to the 2026 Grammy Awards.
The Project Runway host sported a custom nude dress by German designer Marina Hoermanseder on the 2026 Grammy Awards red carpet earlier this month, and Klum tells PEOPLE the piece was just as difficult to walk in as it looked.
"It was very hard to walk in it because it is very hard material," says Klum, noting that the dress is constructed of "leather that is then hardened by lacquering it and spraying it."

"It's kind of like an armor piece, front and back. There's no slit, and so there is just no give. So you can only do baby steps, tiny little baby steps," she notes. "That's why there's a lot of fun memes going around now of me running around on the red carpet."
While Klum faced difficulty wearing the dress, taking it on and off wasn't an issue. "It had buckles on the side, so it was easy. I had a very super sexy, super tight little dress under it," she says. "You just hop in on the side. It opens like a clam."
The Germany's Next Topmodel host reveals she "got to keep" the dress, which now lives "in its gorgeous box and back in the basement."
"I wanted to wear it already last year," admits Klum. "Then a different dress came in, and I changed my mind again last minute. So this dress has been waiting the whole year, because I thought this is a true Grammy dress because people are a little bit more expressive there with their fashion."
The supermodel was drawn to Hoermanseder's creation because she sees the designer as "a real artist of making sculpture dresses to the max."
"I admire that, and I appreciate the art behind this," says Klum, who feels privileged to access such designs and wants to share them with the masses. "People need to see that there is other fabric out there than just the type of regular fabric that we work with most of the time."
"I have a show, Project Runway, about fashion and creativity," she adds. "So, I feel like it's my duty to show creativeness within dressmaking."
Earlier this month, Klum released a new track with Diplo called "Red Eye." The collaboration serves as the theme song for season 21 of Germany's Next Topmodel.
