Ex-Prince Andrew’s home reportedly came with one very specific rule. A new claim said he could move in seven dogs, but not a cat, after settling into temporary accommodation on the Sandringham estate.
The restriction reportedly remained in place as Andrew waited for Marsh Farm renovations to finish. That small detail is a clear sign that his daily life was now being managed far more tightly than before the arrest.
Ex-Prince Andrew cannot move a cat onto the Sandringham estate, claims insider
As per the RadarOnline report, Andrew was staying at Wood Farm while Marsh Farm was renovated. The outlet said he had seven dogs with him, including Muick and Sandy, the late Queen’s corgis. One insider said, “Andrew has effectively surrounded himself with what you might call his seven ‘guests’.” The source added that the dogs were a “constant presence in his day-to-day life.” It also said they carried “greater emotional significance as companions.”

Meanwhile, the same report said one rule overrode any personal preference. The insider said, “The Sandringham estate operates under strict rules.” Then came the line that mattered most. One of the daunting claims was the “outright ban on cats.” The same source added, “No matter what Andrew might prefer personally, that’s simply not negotiable.” According to the article, the policy ties back to long-standing wildlife protections. Dogs were allowed under controlled conditions. Cats, however, were barred to protect local birds.
Then the report said Andrew had been reminded that those limits would be enforced. Another insider said, “Even in what many would describe as a form of exile,” he was living within “a very defined set of constraints.” The same source added, “The ‘no cats’ policy might seem like a minor point on the surface,” but it was “absolutely fixed.” The report also said Marsh Farm security work included CCTV, reinforced gates, and perimeter fencing. In that context, the cat rule looked small, but it showed how little room Andrew had left to make personal choices.
