Bunnie Xo is opening up about her life as a stripper.
In the podcast host and wife of Jelly Roll’s new memoir Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic, out now, she recalls starting to work at a strip club at 19 years old and accidentally passing gas in front of a group of clients.
Bunnie, 46, writes in the book about deciding to dance at nightclubs against a former boyfriend’s wishes after learning he was having an affair with a stripper behind her back.

“I was done being the obedient house mouse,” she writes. “I said, F--- that. I’m going to f---ing strip, too.”
In Stripped Down, she remembers feeling “nervous as f---“ for her first night working as a stripper but going with a “seasoned vet” friend in order to push through. Her first customer offered $700 to “kick him in the balls,” but an “appalled” Bunnie refused the offer — and her friend swept in and accomplished the task.
Soon, “a group of about ten men” approached Bunnie for lap dances, and she was set on following through this time. “Shaking, I stood in front of one of the bachelors. All eyes on me, I could feel their stares as they undressed me with their eyes,” she writes. “The butterflies in my stomach were overwhelming. The pressure to perform was building up.”

As Bunnie began to “plop my ass” into one of the men’s laps, her “stomach bubbled” and “a fluff slipped out.” The flatulence was silent, which initially eased her nerves over the men noticing. But her “relief” quickly turned to “panic.”
“I was grinding my ass off as we wafted in the smell of a rancid fart. It had a kick to it. I couldn’t believe it had come from me,” she writes in the book. “I’m going to be known as the fart dance girl for the rest of my stripper career.”

One of the men called out Bunnie for passing gas, which prompted the rest of them to point and laugh. She finished the dance, left the space and felt “mortified.”
Bunnie’s long been open about her career in sex work. In addition to stripping, she saw clients as a high-end escort until 2020 and made risqué content on OnlyFans until 2023.
She recently opened up to PEOPLE about reflecting on her life to write the book. “It doesn’t matter what you’ve been through. It doesn’t matter where you come from. Believe in yourself, and know that you can change your life at any time and at any age,” she said. “I’m so thankful, and I’m just at a place of peace.”
